BJD Changes Deogarh Nominee

Bhubaneswar: The Governing Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today announced candidates for remaining three MLA seats and changed the nominee for Deogarh Assembly segment.

BJD President and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced the name of Sandhyarani Das, mother of BJD Organizational Secretary Pranab Prakash Das, for the Korei Assembly seat.  

Sabitri Pradhan has been nominated for Khandapada MLA segment while Sukanta Nayak contested from Nilgiri Assembly constituency.

Romanch Ranjan Biswal has been named new BJD candidate in place of Arundhati Devi for Deogarh Assembly seat.

Arundhati Devi, wife of sitting BJP MP from Sambalpur Nitesh Ganga Deb, had joined the BJD and got the ticket. However, now, the ruling party, decided to change her after looking at the situation.   

As BJD Organisational Secretary has been contesting from Sambalpur Lok Sabha seat, the party has decided to nominate her mother from their native Jajpur district.

Following the removal of MLA Soumya Rajan Patnaik, BJD has nominated a new face Sabitri Pradhan for the Assembly segment in Nayagarh district.

Sukanta Nayak, who was elected twice to the State Assembly from BJD and BJP tickets, has been fielded by BJD this time for the Nilgiri seat.

With this announcement, the BJD has fielded candidates for all 21 Lok Sabha and 147 Assembly segments in the State.
