New Delhi: In a major push toward accelerating India’s green energy transition, Shri Vineet Mittal, Chairman of the CII National Committee on Green Hydrogen and Founder & Chairman of the Avaada Group, held a high-level meeting with Shri Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha, on the sidelines of the 7th Confederation of Indian Industry International Energy Conference and Exhibition in New Delhi. Additional Chief Secretary for Energy and Electronics & Information Technology, Shri Vishal Kumar Dev was present in the meeting.
The discussion centered on expanding clean energy infrastructure, accelerating green hydrogen production, and establishing state-of-the-art renewable facilities across Odisha. With the state aggressively positioning itself as a premier destination for green fuel generation and manufacturing, Avaada Group has outlined major expansion plans spanning floating solar, pumped storage systems, green ammonia, and hydrogen research hubs.
The meeting highlighted the active role of Odisha’s Bureaucracy in translating clean energy ambitions into ground-level execution. Additional Chief Secretary for Energy and Electronics & Information Technology, Shri Vishal Kumar Dev, is spearheading the state’s green energy mission. The department is providing comprehensive handholding support to project developers, streamlining regulatory approvals, facilitating land allocation, and ensuring seamless grid integration to fast-track large-scale investments.
During the conference, DCM, Shri Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo reaffirmed Odisha’s commitment to building a resilient, future-ready energy ecosystem, emphasizing that strategic industry partnerships are critical to achieving India’s target of 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030. Vineet Mittal noted that Odisha holds immense potential to serve as a hub for next-generation clean energy, backed by supportive state policies and active handholding by energy authorities.
The collaboration underscores a synchronized alignment between state policymakers, administrative leadership, and industrial champions to transform Odisha into a cornerstone of Asia’s clean energy corridors.
