Vaishnaw Assures Koraput Connectivity

Koraput: Union Minister for Communications, Electronics & Information Technology and Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw, has assured of taking major steps towards the development of tourism and telecom connectivity in undivided Koraput.

Mr.Vaishnaw, who is in Koarput district on Saturday, as part in BJP’s ‘Jan Ashirwad Yatra’ said, “I have received several representations yesterday. The undivided Koraput is very beautiful. Why should people go to Switzerland! Necessary steps will be taken by the Railways for the development of tourism in the area.”

He further said that the youths today are dependent on connectivity. “Therefore, I have instructed the Telecom Secretary to immediately prepare a scheme to increase connectivity in the area,” the Minister said.

After coming across about the allegation of financial irregularities in postal banking services in Malkangiri district, the Minister said, “I have directed concerned officials to conduct a detailed inquiry and submit a report to me in a month.”

Earlier in the day, Mr.Vaishnaw, who is on a four-day tour to Odisha, reviewed Jeypore-Malkangiri, Jeypore-Nawarangpur and Theruvali-Gunupur railway projects.

The Union Minister tweeted that he began the third day in the State with the review meeting and stressed expediting the projects. He also discussed new prospects for the area.

Mr.Vaishnaw then resumed his Jan Ashirwad Yatra by visiting the Sabar Srikhetra and seeking the blessings of Lord Jagannath. On his way, he met President Awardee Uma Kant Das, a retired teacher.

Enroute to Nabarangpur, he was greeted by BJP activists at Ambaguda, Borigumma and Auli.

Yesterday, he shared a video on his Twitter handle while having tea at a roadside stall in Koraput. “I enjoyed the tea and made a digital payment it,” he tweeted.

After Rayagada, Jeypore and Nabrangpur, Mr.Vaishnaw is scheduled to visit Bhawanipatna on Sunday and again board a train from Balangir and arrive in Bhubaneswar the same day. After that, he will return to New Delhi.
