STA Resumes New LL From 23 Aug

Cuttack: With the improvement in Covid-19 scenario, the State Transport Authority (STA) has decided to resume accepting applications for a new Learner’s License (LL) from August 23.

All regional Transport Officers (RTOs) will accept new LL applications from Monday with strict adherence to Covid-19 protocols, official sources said on Saturday.

The issuance of LL was suspended on April 22, 2021, in view of the second wave of Covid-19. With the improved situation and State Government’s instruction, the STA has asked all RTOs to resume the service, the source said.

The LL test for existing applicants has resumed from August 11, 2021. The applicants can book slots from 7 AM to 10 PM every day. The slot duration is of 15 minutes which includes 10 minutes of test time. A candidate has to answer at least 12 questions correctly out of 20 questions to pass out the test.

The applicants must wear masks and maintain social distancing norms at the testing center/office. DL and vehicle-related services and fitness tests have also resumed in all RTOs. In the year 2021, till date, a total of 1,32,391 LLs and 4,12,104 DLs have been issued in the State
