Pradhan Rejects Rahul Slur

New Delhi: The ongoing political storm surrounding national competitive examinations has intensified significantly, escalating into a high-stakes face-off between Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

The dispute centers heavily on accountability and structural reforms following the cancellation of the NEET-UG 2026 examination due to confirmed paper leaks, alongside widening friction regarding CBSE digital evaluation procedures.

Shri Rahul Gandhi has launched a sustained campaign demanding the immediate dismissal or resignation of Shri Dharmendra Pradhan. In a series of video statements and public remarks, the Congress leader highlighted that nearly 22 lakh medical aspirants have faced immense stress and uncertainty due to the leak, noting that question papers were reportedly circulated on social media days before the scheduled test.

Shri Gandhi leveled deep systemic allegations, asserting that an ideological nexus has compromised the integrity of the country’s highest educational institutions and vice-chancellor appointments, prioritizing political loyalty over academic competence.

He stated that the opposition will not relent in its nationwide protests until the Education Minister steps down and a foolproof, unbreachable system is established to safeguard competitive testing.

Responding to the aggressive push from the opposition, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan defended the Union Government’s decisive steps while taking a sharp swipe at his political rival.

Shri Pradhan attributed the Congress leader’s continuous attacks to political frustration stemming from consecutive electoral setbacks, accusing Gandhi of habitually opposing the nation’s technological and digital advancements.

Addressing the administrative side of the crisis, Shri Pradhan emphasized that the Ministry of Education has prioritized student welfare by ordering a comprehensive CBI investigation and scheduling a computer-based NEET-UG re-examination for June 21 to ensure a fair transition.

While taking moral responsibility for the inconvenience caused to students, Shri Pradhan appealed to all political factions to stop politicizing the issue, arguing that aggressive rhetoric only heightens the psychological stress of the examinees during a sensitive re-evaluation period.
