Bhubaneswar: Odisha, has made significant progress in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) program of the voter list, achieving a record-breaking 98.65 percent completion rate in the initial distribution phase.
With the distribution and collection of enumeration forms nearing completion, the focus has now shifted entirely toward accelerating the digitization process. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) have been conducting rigorous door-to-door visits to collect the remaining forms and are actively uploading and digitizing them online.
Reviewing the progress, Chief Electoral Officer Shri R. Santhanagopalan has been regularly monitoring the entire exercise across the state. He has issued an appeal to all citizens to actively participate in this crucial democratic process. He urged voters who have not yet submitted their enumeration forms to do so immediately through their respective BLOs or online to ensure a flawless voter roll.
According to data released by the CEO’s office today (June 13) at 6 PM, enumeration forms have been successfully distributed to 3,29,64,501 voters, covering 98.65 percent of the state’s total electorate. Concurrently, 95,41,924 forms have already been digitized, representing 28.57 percent of the total voters. The digitization drive will be intensified further in the coming days.
The Election Commission has set a strict deadline of June 28, 2026, to fully complete all distribution, collection, and digitization tasks. Citizens are requested to extend full cooperation to the BLOs visiting their localities and submit their forms well ahead of the deadline. The CEO warned that failure to submit the enumeration forms within the stipulated timeframe will trigger a regulatory verification process, which could result in subsequent administrative actions regarding the voter status of the concerned individuals.
To offer maximum convenience, the CEO’s office clarified that voters can also download the enumeration forms directly from the Election Commission’s official website and submit them online. For any queries, information, or grievance redressal related to the voter list revision, citizens can dial the toll-free national helpline number 1950.
To maximize public outreach and ensure the success of the SIR program, the CEO’s office has launched an extensive multimedia awareness campaign. Awareness advertisements and informational broadcasts are currently being actively featured across all electronic media channels, print newspapers, radio stations, and cinema halls across Odisha. Shri Santhanagopalan emphasized that public cooperation is vital to making the final voter list completely accurate, updated, and error-free, thereby strengthening the foundation of democracy.
