NEET UG Re-Exam Review

New Delhi: Union Minister of Education, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, chaired a high-level review meeting to assess the readiness of all involved administrative bodies. The meeting was attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Education, state governments, the National Testing Agency, and various higher education institutions.

During the session, the Union Minister emphasized the absolute necessity of maintaining integrity, transparency, and efficiency throughout the examination process. To ensure seamless execution, designated officers from the central ministry will be deployed to all states to coordinate local activities. These officers will report directly to a centralized command centre headed by the Director General of the National Testing Agency.

Administrative directives were issued to state nodal officers to provide all essential facilities for candidates, ensuring they can take the examination in a stress-free environment. Specific instructions were highlighted by the Secretary of the Department of School Education and Literacy regarding basic provisions, including proper seating arrangements and adequate drinking water at test centres. Additionally, the Secretary of the Department of Higher Education noted that the remaining time leading up to the re-examination must be utilized for strict protocol compliance and proactive instruction dissemination.

The National Testing Agency is actively engaging with district-level coordination committees led by District Magistrates, as well as state police and intelligence agencies, to secure the venues and uphold examination standards. The hybrid meeting concluded with participation from 222 representatives, including state officials, institutional directors, and vice-chancellors, who collectively committed to executing the prescribed protocols for a smooth examination cycle.
