Bhubaneswar: Known as most honest and hardworking mandarin, Ashok Kumar Meena has been appointed as Chairman and managing Director of Food Corporation of India(FCI).
1993 batch IAS Mr.Meena is at present serving as Principal Secretary Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water in Odisha Government.
Rated as an effective and workaholic civil servant, Mr.Meena’s tenure in Odisha as Secretary Food, Supply and Consumer Welfare will go a long way in guiding the FCI, which is safe guarding the interest of the farmers by providing effective price support.
FCI under Mr.Meena’s pro-poor mind-set will be able to provide farmers remunerative prices and will be able to intervene in market for price stabilization.
Mr.Meena has served in various sectors, including social and economic sectors like Panchayati Raj, Drinking Water, Finance, Defence, Commerce, Food Supply and Consumer Welfare, ETC.
Known for his meticulous planning and execution of Financial Reforms and bringing in transparency in the Financial System of the State, Mr.Meena will be executing Flagship Program of Food Security of the country through FCI.
Bringing in transparency is his forte and lot of hope is pinned on Mr.Meena in his new assignment.
