New Delhi: In a high-level meeting held at Atal Akshaya Urja Bhawan in New Delhi, Shri Santosh Sarangi, Secretary of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), met with H.E. Mrs. Sheilabai Bappoo, High Commissioner of the Republic of Mauritius to India.
The primary objective of the meeting was to explore new avenues for bilateral cooperation in the renewable energy sector. Both officials engaged in detailed discussions regarding the deployment of clean energy projects, aiming to leverage India’s technical expertise and Mauritius’s strategic position in the Indian Ocean region.
The meeting highlighted the shared commitment of both nations to transition toward sustainable energy sources. Key areas of focus included the acceleration of solar and wind energy initiatives, as well as potential partnerships under the framework of the International Solar Alliance (ISA).
India and Mauritius have a long-standing history of cooperation, and today’s dialogue reaffirmed their intent to deepen this partnership. By collaborating on green energy infrastructure, both countries aim to address climate change challenges while ensuring energy security and economic growth.
The discussions concluded with a mutual agreement to maintain continuous engagement and streamline the implementation of joint renewable energy ventures in the coming months.
