HLCA Clears 20 Mega Projects

Bhubaneswar: In a major boost to the industrial ecosystem of Odisha, the High Level Clearance Authority chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has officially approved 20 major industrial projects. The mega proposals carry a cumulative investment of 76,611.86 crore rupees and are projected to generate 50,517 employment opportunities across nine districts of the state. DCM shri K V Singh Deo, Chief Secretary Shrimati Anu Garg, Development Commissioner Shri Deoranjan Kumar Singh and other senior officers were present.

Additional Chief Secretary for Industry, Home, and Information and Public Relations, Shri Hemant Sharma, highlighted that the major development comes as part of the state administration’s structured roadmap to drive comprehensive progress. The strategic approvals reinforce investor confidence in the region, focusing heavily on industrial expansion and balanced regional growth.

The announcement event was also attended by Shri Sampad Chandra Swain, the Minister Industries, Skill Development and Technical Education. Both leaders reaffirmed the government’s commitment to building a stronger, more prosperous Odisha by ensuring that industry and employment opportunities flourish hand in hand.

The approved mega projects span across multiple high-growth and emerging technology sectors. Notably, this includes the state’s strategic entry into the lab-grown diamond manufacturing sector, alongside substantial investments in green energy equipment, aerospace, defense, chemicals, and steel. The state government intends to fast-track the execution of these projects through enhanced ground-level facilitation and progressive industrial policies.
