Bhawanipatna: Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra Saturday said that Covid-19 situation in Nuapada and Kalahandi districts is fully under control.
“As of now, the situation is under control. And very soon I think we can arrest its spread,” said Mr.Mahapatra here after a detailed review of Covid Management in the districts.
He said the newly appointed post PG doctors would be joining work from tomorrow (Sunday).
“Now restrictions have been imposed on people coming from outside. Those not having an RT-PCR test negative certificate or have to quarantined,” he added.
Mr.Mahapatra reviewed the preparedness of the district for containing the spread of the second surge of Covid; and gave necessary directions for enforcement of Covid appropriate behaviour, increasing the RTPCR test, minimum 7 days isolation of the people coming from outside.
He was accompanied by Additional Chief Secretary Health and Family Welfare P K Mohapatra and Director, Directorate of Medical Education & Training (DMET) Dr CBK Mohanty and reviewed the preparedness of the districts for containing the spread of the second wave of Covid; and gave the necessary directions for enforcement of Covid appropriate behaviour.
These officials visited District Covid hospitals in Nuapada and Kalahandi districts and reviewed the treatment facility, availability of medicines, beds, ICUs, and other facilities.
The Chief Secretary said that whatever infrastructure and steps that are required to contain the spread of the virus shall be undertaken.
Notably, the two districts which share borders with Chhattisgarh have seen a surge in Covid-19 infections.
