CM Push For GMAPSP

Bhubaneswar: In a major push toward transforming the primary education landscape of the state, Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi has issued a strict directive to all District Magistrates to complete land identification for 2200 model schools by March 2027.

This order comes as part of a high level review meeting chaired by the Chief Minister regarding the Godabarish Mishra Adarsh Primary School Program(MMAPSP).

The ambitious scheme is considered the brainchild and flagship program of the state government, designed to establish world class primary educational facilities across various panchayats.

To accelerate the implementation of the project during its first phase, the Chief Minister emphasized that District Magistrates must accord top priority to finding suitable land locations immediately.

A rigorous monitoring mechanism has been set up to track the progress of this state initiative. District Magistrates are required to oversee the developments on a weekly basis and submit comprehensive weekly progress reports directly to the Secretary of the School and Mass Education Department.

In addition to the local administrative oversight, the Chief Minister announced that he will personally conduct a review of the entire project once every month.

The scheme has already seen significant execution on the ground. So far, foundation stones have been laid and construction work has officially commenced for 322 schools.

With a substantial portion of the target still requiring finalized locations, the state administration is moving rapidly to secure land resources before the March 2027 deadline to ensure rural children gain access to modern academic infrastructure.
