BJD Govt. Expiry Date 4 June; PM

Berhampur: Hitting out at the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in his first political rally ahead of twin elections in the state, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that the BJD Government will expire on 4 June and new BJP Chief Minister will be sworn-in on 10 June.

“Today is 6 May . BJP’s CM candidate will be announced on 6 June. The swearing-in ceremony of the BJP CM will be held on 10 June. I invite all of you to the swearing-in ceremony,” the Prime Minister said at the rally.

In Odisha, BJD ‘Asth’ he, Congress ‘Pasth’ he wor lok BJP par ‘Aswasth’ he’.  The Congress has ruled the state for 50 years while 25 years completed under the BJD government, but nothing happened in the state, he said.

Despite the state being rich in water resources , fertile land, mineral resources, long coast line, trade centres like Berhampur, the people of the state are still poor.

“Why migration of people so high in the Chief Minister’ home constituency? Why are the doctor posts lying vacant in many hospitals of the state? Why does the state have high school dropouts?” asked Shri Modi.

“Who is responsible for it? Why are the people of resource-rich Odisha still poor? The answer is rampant loot by Congress, which ruled the state for 50 years, and then the BJD for the next 25 years. Small BJD netas now own big buildings. The BJD is sinking, while Congress is a spent force and the BJP is the only ray of hope for the people,” he said.

Shri Modi said he has never compromised in allocation of funds to the state. The UPA government, in its 10 years tenure, had provided only Rs 1 lakh crore to Odisha while Modi Government has given more than Rs 3.50 lakh crore to the state in the past 10 years.

The Modi Government provides Rs 6,000 to pregnant women under Janani Suraksha Yojana. But the BJD Government is denying the women here of this benefit by not implementing the scheme, he stated.

A person, who lives, understands and takes pride in Odia culture and tradition, can help resolve the problems of Odisha at a faster pace. Therefore, the swearing in should be of a BJP CM, PM Shri Modi said.

The PM said his Government gave Rs 10,000 crore to Odisha under Jal Jeevan Mission. The BJD Government here could not spend that money properly.

Modi Government sends money to build roads in villages, but here the condition of roads is still bad. Modi Government sends money for free rice from Delhi, but the BJD government pastes its stickers on this scheme, he said.

Shri Modi said the BJP has very proudly given the highest post of the country to the daughter of Odisha. “It is my good fortune that President Droupadi Murmu Ji regularly gives me feedback for the development of Odisha. I feel that I will be able to do a lot for the state under her guidance,” he said.

The BJD government has not also implemented the Ayushman Bharat Yojana in the State because they don’t bother about the treatment of poor people and those who migrated to other states.

“On the very day of the new BJP CM swearing-in ceremony on June 10, we will implement the Ayushman Bharat scheme. Modi Government will provide free treatment to senior citizens over 70 years, irrespective of their financial status. Not only the senior citizens, youth will be free from the tension of treatment of their parents. This son of Lord Jagannath will take care of all senior citizens under this scheme,” the PM said.

Stating that people of the state are extremely talented, the Prime Minister said he has seen how hardworking the people of the State are, many of whom are working in Surat, and they can accelerate the process of development here.

“I urge you to allow BJP to serve you for once and it is Modi’s guarantee that Odisha will be turned into the number 1 State in the next five years,” he said, giving the example of its government in Uttar Pradesh, Tripura, Chhattisgarh and Assam.
