Odisha Students Explore Gujarat

Gandhinagar: A student delegation from Odisha recently experienced a warm and enthusiastic reception during their visit to Gujarat as part of Yuva Sangam Phase VI.

This educational and cultural exchange is an initiative organized by the Department of Higher Education under the Ministry of Education, running within the framework of the broader Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat programme.

For this specific exchange, the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela is serving as the nodal leading institution for the Odisha contingent, while the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad is hosting the students in Gujarat.

This tour represents one of twenty-two such educational exchange journeys happening simultaneously across the country. The central objective of the Yuva Sangam initiative is to cultivate cultural exchange, provide experiential learning opportunities, and strengthen national integration by allowing youth to discover the rich cultural, educational, and developmental landscapes of different Indian states and union territories.

A major highlight of the tour occurred on June 4, 2026, when the delegation visited Lok Bhavan in Gandhinagar to interact with the Governor of Gujarat, Acharya Devvrat.

The meeting centered around a meaningful discussion regarding the pivotal role that the younger generation must play in constructing a developed nation, aligned with the Viksit Bharat @ 2047 vision.

During the interaction, Governor Devvrat stressed the immense value of civic responsibility, innovation, and value-based education. He encouraged the visiting students to actively participate in nation-building efforts to help turn the collective vision of a fully developed India into a reality.
