New Delhi: The announcement of IREDA’s highest-ever annual profit after tax of 1,873 crore rupees for the financial year 2025-26 serves as a powerful validation of the strategic overdrive led by its Chairman and Managing Director, Shri Pradip Kumar Das.
Under his stewardship, the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) has transitioned into a highly resilient financial institution, scaling new heights while anchoring the nation’s green energy transition.
CMD Shri Das’s dynamic approach is visible in the massive expansion of the company’s loan book, which has surged past 93,000 crore rupees, growing by 22 percent over the previous year.
This rapid growth indicates an aggressive market strategy focused on unlocking capital for large-scale renewable projects. Rather than expanding indiscriminately, Shri Das has balanced this massive growth with institutional discipline.
This is highlighted by a significant improvement in asset quality, with net non-performing assets dropping to 1.29 percent, demonstrating that the agency’s expansion is built on sound underwriting practices.
The robust 23 percent growth in total operating income to 8,337 crore rupees reflects a clear strategy to diversify revenue and capitalize on emerging clean energy technologies.
IREDA CMD Shri Das’s focus on responsible scaling is further emphasized by a 34 percent jump in net worth to 13,781 crore rupees, providing the Navratna CPSE with a substantial cushion to absorb risks and a powerful base to leverage future funding.
Reflecting on these landmark achievements, CMD Shri Das pointed out that surpassing the 93,000 crore rupee milestone while securing peak profitability is a testament to institutional resilience and an unwavering belief in India’s green potential.
He has consistently pushed the IREDA to adapt to the accelerating pace of the green transition, preparing the Agency for its next level of evolution as the primary financial engine for the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
By driving record loan sanctions of 51,883 crore rupees and robust disbursements of 34,946 crore rupees, CMD Shri Das has positioned IREDA not just as a lender, but as an aggressive catalyst for green growth.
His collaborative leadership style, which credits the collective efforts of Team IREDA alongside constant alignment with union ministries and the board, continues to foster a culture of performance and delivery.
As India enters a critical phase of renewable energy deployment, Shri Das’s visionary leadership has ensured that IREDA remains ahead of the curve, financially strong, and fully equipped to power the next generation of clean energy infrastructure.
