Bhubaneswar: R Santhanagopalan, Secretary Labor & ESI has inaugurated a Three Days Long Workshop on First Aid Treatment in case of any Medical Emergency Situation.
First aid treatment is an emergency care provided for injury or sudden illness before emergency medical treatment is available.
Workshop was organized by Factories and Boilers Directorate and State Labor Institute, Odisha.
Shri Santhanagopalan advised the participant to pay attention to the issues and help out the workers and labors facing an emergency in workplace.
The first-aid provider in the workplace is someone who is trained in the delivery of initial medical emergency procedures, using a limited amount of equipment to perform a primary assessment and intervention while awaiting arrival of emergency medical service (EMS) personnel
A workplace first-aid program is part of a comprehensive safety and health management system that includes the following four essential elements, including, Management Leadership and Employee Involvement, Worksite Analysis, Hazard Prevention and Control and Safety and Health Training.
Labor & ESI Additional Secretary Niti Ranjan Sen and Director Factories and Boilers Malay Kumar Pradhan graced the occasion.
National Safety Council Odisha Branch’s Laxmi Narayan Sahu coordinated the workshop. Participants were from Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Paradip and Berhampur Circle officials.
The Workshop will continue till 13 October.
