Lanjigarh: Vedanta Limited, Lanjigarh has organized COVID-19 Vaccination Program in partnership with the Community Health Centre, Biswanathpur, about a hundred personnel from Vedanta’s Health team at Lanjigarh will be vaccinated in the first phase.
The commencement of the vaccination drive, was held under the close supervision of the district administration, adhering to all COVID guidelines. The district administration also provided the vaccine and other required medical equipment.
Inaugurating the vaccination drive, Mr.Rakesh Mohan, Chief Operating Officer, Vedanta Limited, Lanjigarh unit said, “Vedana Lanjigarh has made all necessary efforts towards ensuring the safety and wellbeing of its employees, business partners and community members since the outbreak of the pandemic”.
Participation in this state-wide COVID-19 vaccination drive is a demonstration of our responsibility towards our people and the community. We are thankul to the district administration and the district health authorities tfor their dupport in this drive.
The unit has extended support to the district administration and the health authorities and reached out to around 1 lakh people in Kalahandi.
“With our participation in this vaccination drive, we reiterate our commitment to the fight against COVID-19 and keeping our employees, community and COVID warriors safe”, said he.
Appreciating the efforts of Vedanta, Lanjigarh, Dr. Pratap Kumar Behera, Chief District Medical and Public Health Officer, Kalahandi said, “Vedanta Lanjigarh has come forward with all required support in the prevention of COVID-19 since the outbreak of the pandemic and has taken up proactive steps in supporting the district health authorities. The company is also participating in the vaccination drive adhering to all the precautions and guidelines. This reflects on the responsibility and commitment of Vedanta towards its employees and the community.”

Vedanta’s social interventions in the domains of sustainable livelihood, women empowerment, quality education, health, water and sanitation, bio-investment and community infrastructure reach out to a total of 69 villages in Lanjigarh and nearby areas, benefiting about a lakh people in a year.
It empowers more than 3000 women from 305 self-help groups (SHGs), provides healthcare services to about 30,000 people annually, gives educational support to more than 2800 students, has planted more than 5.4 lakh trees in the community, and built 500 plus infrastructural projects at community level.
