Bhubaneswar: As many of its employees are busy in discharging Covid-19 management duty, the State Government has given another two months time to them to submit their property details. Now, the government officers can submit their asset details before August 31.
The General Administration and Public Grievances Department has issued a circular to all Department, RDCs and Collectors.
“It has come to the notice that a large number of officers could not submit the property statement by the extended time (June 30). Considering their difficulties, the Government has pleaded to allow extension of the timeline for submission of property statements online (Using HRMS portal) for the period from April 1, 2020 to 31 December, 2020,” the circular said.
The senior Officers have been requested to inform all of their subordinate offices about the extension of the deadline. The employees have been directed to not to wait till the deadline comes closer and file their property statement ahead of the timeline.
Earlier, the Government had extended the deadline twice in view of the prevailing Covid-19 situation.
To pave the way for compulsory submission of property statements by all Government employees, the State Cabinet in its meeting held June 9, decided to amend Odisha Government Servants’ Conduct Rules, 1959.
As per the provisions prescribed under Rule-21 of the Odisha Government Servants’ Conduct Rules, 1959, every Government servant is required to make a true and complete declaration of all his assets movable and immovable and the value thereof.
However, with the amendment, now the statement can be placed in the public domain for information of the general public. A copy of the property statement will also be forwarded to the Lokayukta for his information.
