Bhubaneswar: In a move to energize the leaders and workers of BJP, Odisha in-charge Sunil Bansal Tuesday held discussion with saffron leaders for preparation of a roadmap for next three months, a senior Lawmaker said.
Mr.Bansal, who is on his maiden visit to the state after taking over Odisha’s charge, held meetings with party’s core committee members including Union Minister Bisheswar Tudu, BJP National Vice-President Baijayant Panda and National Spokesperson Sambit Patra and State Chief Sameer Mohanty.
Earlier after his arrival here on Monday, Mr.Bansal had discussion with the BJP’s office bearers and others where he took stock of the party situation across the state. His focus was obviously the 37,000 booths across the state.
Mr.Bansal would prepare a proper strategy to boost the party’s electoral prospects in the 2024 elections.
Union Minister Mr.Tudu, who attended a meeting with Mr.Bansal, said that the Odisha ‘Pravari’ has been focusing on the booths and aimed at 125 Assembly seats where the saffron candidates had performed better in the previous elections.
He urged the need to galvanize the organization at the village level in order to ensure the BJP’s victory in the next elections. “After holding discussion with all the stakeholders, Mr.Bansal will give final touch to the strategy on which the party will move to hit the target,” said a former State President.
While highlighting the efficiency of Bansal, BJP State General Secretary Golak Mohapatra said that he has played a key role in the BJP’s electoral victory in Uttar Pradesh.
Mr.Bansal, also held meetings with party MPs, MLAs and district presidents to take stock of the situation and inform them about the necessity to gear up for the next Lok Sabha and State Assembly elections.
Mr.Mohapatra said Bansal’s visit will follow the party’s three day training programme scheduled to be held in Puri from September 13 to 15. Party’s national general secretary (Organisation) B L Santosh is also scheduled to attend the training program.
National BJP President Jagat P Nadda is visiting the State soon to meet the cadres.
The office bearers, leaders and others will be sensitized in the training programme on how to highlight Narendra Modi government’s good work for Odisha and his efforts to uplift Odias in the national level.
The party leaders will be trained to take the message of Modi to villages and inform people that Droupadi Murmu’s election as the President of India was a proof of BJP government’s effort to uplift tribals and give importance to Odias.
As part of the BJP’s flurry of activities in the month of September, Mohapatra said that party president JP Nadda will come on a two-day visit to Odisha on September 29 and 30.
As Odisha has been identified as the BJP’s focus state, Nadda is also likely to meet the party MLAs, MPs and defected candidates during his visit.
Earlier in August, party stalwart and Union Minister Amit Shah had come on a two day visit to the state where he announced that BJP will come to the power in Odisha also like other non-Hindi speaking states in the country.
