Bhubaneswar: The third phase of money in the first installment under Subhadra Yojana will be disbursed among beneficiaries on November 24 this year, informed Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida here today.
While speaking to mediapersons after returning from a week-long visit to London, Parida said the third phase distribution of Subhadra money will be done at a special event to be organized in Sundargarh district. Union Ministers are likely to grace the occasion, she said.
As many as 20 lakh beneficiaries, who had not received money in the previous two phases, will get Rs 5,000 in their bank accounts in the third phase, she added.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the ambitious Subhadra scheme of the BJP government on his birthday, on September 17 this year. On that day, the first instalment of Rs 5,000 was sent directly to the bank accounts of about 25.11 lakh beneficiaries.
While the amount was credited to the bank accounts of around 39 lakh women in the second phase on October 9, which was graced by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi in Mayurbhanj district.
SO far, over 60 lakh beneficiaries have received Subhadra amount in the first two phases of the first installment.
Sources said that the BJP government has selected Sundargarh district to distribute the Subhadra money keeping an eye on the upcoming Jharkhand election.
Under the Subhadra scheme, all eligible women between the age of 21-60 years would receive Rs 50,000 over a period of five years between 2024-25 and 2028-29.
Each beneficiary will receive Rs 10,000 per year in two installments of Rs 5,000 each one on Rakhi Purnima, and the other on International Women’s Day (March 8). The initiative is expected to cover more than 1 crore women.
