State Clears Five Projects

Bhubaneswar: On the specious occasion of Utkal Dibasa, High Level Clearance Authority (HLCA) led by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has approved 5 industrial projects worth Rs 35,760 crores that would generate over 38,100 employment opportunities in Odisha.

The State Government is working hard towards converting the investment intents received during Make in Odisha Conclave 2022 into ground reality, an official said.

Projects spread across diverse sectors like IT & ESDM/Green Energy Equipment, Steel, Chemicals and Textile received approvals today.

The approved projects will be set up in Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, Jagatsinghpur, and Keonjhar districts. The HLCA has given a go-ahead to two projects in the steel sector, one project each in green energy and equipment, chemicals sector, and technical textile sector.

The CM-led panel has approved the proposal of WAREE Energies Limited to set up an Integrated Solar Equipment Manufacturing Complex with an investment of Rs 25,000 crore.

It will set up a manufacturing unit with a capacity of 50,000 MT Polysilicon, 10,000 MW each of Ingot, Wafer, Solar Cells, and Solar Module at Neulopoi, Dhenkanal.

The project is expected to provide employment opportunities to about 14,000 people in the state.  Such a manufacturing facility is the largest in eastern India which will develop the ecosystem for further investment in this sector, the official said.

Similarly, the Committee also approved the proposal of Super Smelters Limited to set up an integrated steel plant of 1.8 MTPA in Keonjhar district which promises an investment of Rs 5,436.10 crore and is expected to provide employment opportunities to about 19,000 people in the state.

Alongside these, the HLCA approved another steel sector project by Kashvi Power and Steel Private Limited. The company will set up an integrated steel plant at Kalipal in Keonjhar district with an investment of Rs 1600 crore. This 0.55 MTPA capacity plant will provide employment to more than 3,500 people in Odisha.

In the technical textile sector, the Government approved a project by MCPI Private Limited. With an investment of Rs 2,223.25 crores, the company proposes to set up manufacturing of HMLS Polyester, Based Tyre Cord Fabrics, HTLE Yarns, High IV and CP Chips at Bhadrak Technical Textile Park. This unit will provide employment opportunities to more than 1,150 people.

In the chemicals sector, the authority approved a project by IVL Dhunseri Petrochem Industries Ltd that is expected to provide employment to more than 450 people of Odisha.

The company will set up a bottle grade PET resin with a capacity of 60,000 MT per Annum at Paradeep in Jagatsinghpur district with an investment of Rs 1,500 crore.
