Bhubaneswar: The State Government has allowed the bidders to visit the concerned mineral block before going for financial bidding of the block to make the bidding process more transparent.
On 29 March 2022, the State Government issued Notice Inviting Tender (NIT) for four mineral blocks. Out of four blocks, two mineral blocks of iron ore and other two mineral blocks of manganese & iron ore.
The blocks are Koira iron ore block Kedesala North-East iron ore block, Kusumdihi manganese & iron ore block and Orahuri manganese & iron ore block. All four blocks are located in the mineral-rich Sundergarh district.
Director of Mines, Debidutta Biswal has recently asked Deputy Director of Mines, Koira to facilitate site visits by bidders to these four auctionable mineral blocks.
“In pursuance to the above NIT, bidder / bidders may intend for site visit after purchase of tender documents for any of the mineral blocks. You are, therefore, advised to facilitate the bidder/bidders or their authorized representatives for site visit of any of the mineral blocks, only for which the intending bidders have purchased tender documents,” Mr.Biswal said.
The above site visit is to be allowed on production of proper ID proof and proof/document in support of purchase of the tender documents copies of which are to be retained with you for reference and record, he said.
As per the NIT for auction of the four mines, the interested bidder can purchase the tender documents after payment of a tender fee on the e-auction platform’s website till May 9, 2022 while May 17, 2022 is the last date for submission of the bid. The tender fee for all mineral blocks is Rs 5 lakh each.
Out of the four blocks, only Kedesala North-East iron ore block and Orahuri manganese & iron ore block are virgin blocks while other two blocks are expired blocks, sources said.
