Skilling Temple Servitors

Puri: A two-day Sevak Prashikshan Camp and Seminar commenced today at Niladri Bhaktanivas, organized by Shree Jagannath Temple Administration to enhance the skills and understanding of the temple’s servitors.

 The seminar was inaugurated by Dr.Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Chief Administrator , Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), District Magistrate, and the Superintendent of Police.

The Chief Administrator, Dr.Padhee  expressed gratitude to the servitors for their participation and cooperation in the program.

During his address, he highlighted ten key attributes that define a good servitor: dedication, purity, discipline, knowledge, responsibility, team spirit, respect for others, selflessness, patience, and gratitude.

The training, scheduled from 4 PM to 7 PM daily, aims to facilitate discussions and exchange of views on various aspects of temple service.

The first day’s sessions focused on: The qualities and “Signs of a good servant”, the “Disciplined principles of Srijiu” (Lord Jagannath) and the essence of “Service and servant” relationships.

The second day’s agenda includes discussions on: The “Role of the servant in disciplined philosophy”, “Good devotee communication” to improve visitor experience“ and “Coordination between administration and servitors” to ensure smooth operations.

The SJTA hopes that this training will contribute to the enhanced efficiency and dedication of the servitors, ultimately benefiting the countless devotees who visit the revered temple.

This seminar aims to improve the coordination and understanding between the servitors and the administration, and to improve the overall experience of the devotees, said a senior official of SJTA.
