Bhubaneswar: Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (SSEPD) Department has taken initiative to impart skill training for hearing impaired youths in hospitality sector.
150 youths in 5 batches will be trained through Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition.
The institute, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Tourism, will provide necessary skill training for the purpose, as envisaged in an MoU signed between the Institute and the Department.
Bishnupada Sethi, Principal Secretary, SSEPD Department said that necessary skill training to PwDs will open more vistas for gainful employment in Hotel and Hospitality Sector.
The State Government gives importance on creating more employment opportunities among PwDs, he said.
In the presence of senior officers Dillip Kumar Ray, Special Secretary SSEPD and Sharada Ghosh, Principal were signatories on behalf of the Department and the Institute respectively.
