Shalini Pandit Joins Major Financial Boards

New Delhi: Senior IAS Officer, Shrimati Shalini Pandit has been inducted as a Director and Board Member across several prominent banks, regulatory bodies, and financial institutions. This development follows her appointment as Joint Secretary in the Department of Financial Services under the Union Ministry of Finance.

In line with governance protocols where senior bureaucrats represent the central government on the boards of public sector financial entities, her induction aims to strengthen regulatory oversight and align institutional operations with national economic policies.

Among her notable board-level assignments, the government has nominated her as a part-time member of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India.

Prior to her central deputation, Shrimati Pandit served in several high-profile administrative roles within the Government of Odisha. Her tenure in the state included leadership positions as Secretary for the School and Mass Education Department, the Health and Family Welfare Department, and the Mission Shakti Department. She also gained recognition for her administrative management as the Mission Director of the National Health Mission and as an pro-people Labour Commissioner.

Her current portfolio at the Department of Financial Services connects her extensive background in social sector development, particularly women’s self-help groups and rural welfare, with macro-level banking policies.

In addition to her board responsibilities, she serves as the Central Nodal Officer for the Pradhan Mantri Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana, where she monitors the delivery of central banking and agricultural schemes to ensure financial inclusion at the grassroots level.
