Sarma Takes Board Of Revenue Charge

Bhubaneswar: Veteran Mandarin G V Venugopal Sarma has taken over as Member Board of Revenue, Odisha.

1986 Batch IAS, Mr.Sarma, who was serving in Government of India was roped in by the State Government for handling crucial assignment of Board of Revenue.

In fact this is second time, Mr.Sarma has been appointed as Member Board of Revenue as before moving out to Centre, he was serving in this crucial assignment.

Mr.Sarma served as Member Board of Revenue from May 2018 to July 2019.

Mr.Sarma took charge from 1988 Batch IAS C J Venugopal in the Camp Office of Member Board of Revenue at Bhubaneswar.

Mr.Venugopal has been appointed as Chief Administrator KBK and has been assigned additional charge of Chief Resident Commissioner New Delhi.

Mr.Sarma during his days in National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) as Member Secretary has been very helpful for the State and was facilitating the ‘Disaster Zone’ in a big way.

While Mr.Sarma and Mr.Venugopal held discussion about the ongoing programs on Land Revenue Management in the State, both of the Top Mandarins interacted on various other issues pertaining to Board of Revenue.

Mr.Sarma was welcomed by senior officials of the Board of Revenue (BoR) and later he held discussion with them on urgent issues of BoR.

During the discussion, Additional Secretary Abhiram Kerketa and other senior officials including Debananda Das and Jarman Tudu were present.

Mr.Venugopal also took charge of KBK Chief Administrator on 21 May, which was handled by 1986 Batch IAS Sudarshan Pal Thakur as additional charge.

Mr.Thakur is now Director General Training & Coordination, Gopabandhu Academy of Administration.
