Bhubaneswar: With Rural Polls in the state likely to be held before March, 2022, the Odisha unit of BJP on 27 December held a brain storming exercise with MPs, MLAs and District Presidents.
The main objective of the meeting was to prepare strategies on how to defeat the Governing BJD in the Three Tier Panchayati Raj polls, said senior BJP leader and Bargarh MP Suresh Pujari.
Mr.Pujari added that the Party will prepare State and regional level manifestos for the purpose of the three-tier Rural Polls.
BJP MP said that the focus will be on further strengthening the booth committees.
Mr.Pujari said a list of those who will devout their full time for the elections is being prepared.
He said that BJP could perform well and secured 297 Zilla Parishad seats in 2014 panchayat polls despite not having many MLAs and MPs.
Mr.Pujari said this time in 2022, the saffron party has more MLAs, MPs and leaders to fight out the BJD.
Saffron Lawmaker said discussions were held on selection of contestants, campaign in-charges, campaign materials like posters banners and how to reach good works of Narendra Modi Government to the people.
Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi said the party would attempt to reach at every door steps of the state where elections and held. The people would be made aware of the poverty, unemployment and other such issues which has increased instead of reduction during the 21 years rule of the BJD Government in the state.
The party expects that the date for the three-tire elections would be announced after an all-party meeting to be convened by the State Election Commission, Odisha soon.
The party, insiders said this time, would also focus on the new voters. While the number of voters in 2014 Rural Polls was 2.61 crore, this time around 2.63 people will be eligible to participate in the Polls.
