Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Tuesday said that he was confident that Malkangiri district is set to strengthen its position on the development map in the State with the development Road Map ready for the district
Inaugurating six important development projects for the district virtually, he said that these projects will further lead the social and economic development of the district. Secretary to CM V K Pandian moderated the Meet.
Mr.Patnaik said that Malkangiri has always been special to him and the development work in the district gave him the greatest joy.
“I have full faith, the Malkangiri identity will be brighter in the future. Malkangiri will further strengthen its position on the development map as a leading district of the state,’ he said.
Among the projects inaugurated are – two hostels to accommodate 1200 students- 600 boys and as many girls-belonging to the Scheduled Tribe and Scheduled Caste studying in research programmes and Biju Patnaik Inter-state Bus Terminal at Motu Tri Junction to facilitate transit to the district as well as Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh.
In addition, a high-level bridge connecting Malkangari to Banda area and Biju Bridge over the Tamsa river at Balimela, a judo academy for sports development and a shelter for children were also inaugurated by the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister highly appreciated the rapid development program in Malkangiri district.
“The people of Malkangiri are connected with development today. Your cooperation in development work has always encouraged us. Education and awareness has been spread in the district. Communication has improved. It is a good thing that you are taking advantage of various welfare schemes starting from Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana,” he said.
He also complemented the success of Malkangari’s successful farmers, women of Mission Shakti, students, youth and said they have brought a new identity to the district today.
Citing the example of Karma Muduli, a girl from Banda Ghati studying in the best government women’s university in Bhubaneswar, the Chief Minister said that education brings opportunities and education has brought about this transformation.
Mr.Patnaik advised the students to create an identity for themselves by reading the text.
On this occasion, Chitrakonda MLA Puranchandra Baka and District Council Chairperson Samari Tanglu gave keynote speeches and praised the strong leadership of the Chief Minister for the rapid development of Malkangiri district.
