Pujari Reviews Revenue Litigations

Cuttack: In a strategic move to address the mounting backlog of revenue-related litigation, Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari chaired a high-level review meeting at the Board of Revenue premises on 8 May.

Member Board Of Revenue, Shari Satyabrata Sahu welcomed Minister Shri Pujari and presented details about the process of expediting the backlog of cases.

ACS Revenue & Disaster Management Dr.Arabinda Kumar Padhee outlined the points of discussion and the meeting focused primarily on finding ways to expedite the hearings and resolutions of thousands of cases that have remained pending for an extended period across the state.

During the meeting, the Minister emphasized the need for a more streamlined approach to judicial and administrative processes within the revenue department. He noted that the delay in resolving these cases not only stalls administrative efficiency but also causes significant hardship for citizens seeking timely justice regarding land and property matters.

Officials present at the briefing discussed several bottlenecks contributing to the slow pace of disposals, including procedural complexities and the high volume of incoming petitions.

Minister Shri Pujari directed the concerned authorities to adopt a time-bound action plan and leverage digital tools where possible to track case progress more effectively.

The Minister also interacted with senior members of the Board of Revenue to identify specific districts with the highest pendency rates. He reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring that the grievance redressal mechanism remains accessible and swift, ensuring that long-standing disputes reach a finality that benefits the general public.
