Hota Bags Dadhichi Samman

Bhubaneswar: The sacred land of Odisha has long stood as a testament to devotion, sacrifice, penance, firm determination, and the power of resolve. Our revered elders continue to teach the art of reflecting the ideals of eternal love in life, not just through words, but through actions. One such unique personality is Shri Mrutyunjay Hota.

During his career as a teacher, his home was akin to a Gurukul. He possessed immense expertise in various fields, including providing free education, distributing homeopathic medicines, offering guidance in astrology, and performing magic. He was always proactive in helping underprivileged children pursue higher education. He earned widespread acclaim for authoring the “magic mathematics” book titled Akal Gudum.

Today, his students occupy prestigious positions across the globe. Notable figures such as Paramahansa Swami Prajnanananda Saraswati and the current Vice-Chancellor of Rajendra University (Balangir), Professor Bibhuti Bhushan Mallick, deeply respect Shri Hota as their life’s mentor.

Inspired by the ideals of Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, Shri Hota—now 91 years old—has embraced a life of selfless service. In a final act of noble resolve, he has pledged to donate his body after death. On this occasion, the distinguished journalist, author, social reformer, and Founding President of the Body and Organ Donation Society of India, Dr. Prabhas Chandra Acharya, paid tribute to Shri Hota and presented him with the “Dadhichi Samman” citation.

We offer deep prayers for the healthy, ailment-free, and blissful life of this sacrificial soul, steeped in Sai devotion. A hundred salutations to this modern-day Dadhichi.
