Sambalpur: Union Minister for Education, Dharmendra Pradhan, today led a massive Yoga celebration in Sambalpur on the occasion of the 11th International Yoga Day (IDY).
More than six thousand people, including students, volunteers, social organizations, and government institutions, participated in the event held at the sacred site of Maa Samaleswari and along the banks of the Mahanadi River.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Minister Shri Pradhan expressed his unique experience of performing yoga with the people of Sambalpur. He highlighted the day’s theme, “One Earth, One Health through Yoga,” emphasizing the holistic benefits of the ancient practice.
“On the occasion of the 11th ‘International Yoga Day,’ it was a unique experience for me to participate in yoga with the people of Sambalpur, especially students from schools to universities, volunteers, social organizations, government institutions, and friends from other organizations, at the sacred site of Maa Samaleswari and along the banks of the Mahanadi in Sambalpur,” ShriPradhan posted.
He extended his gratitude to the Sambalpur District Administration for organizing the successful event and wished everyone on Yoga Day.
The large-scale participation underscored the growing awareness and adoption of yoga for well-being, aligning with the global movement promoted by India.
The picturesque backdrop of Maa Samaleswari Temple, a revered Shakti Peetha, and the serene Mahanadi Riverfront added to the spiritual and natural ambiance of the celebration.
