Plea Not To Panic On Leopard

Bhubaneswar; After a wild leopard was spotted at Panchupalli in Keonjhar district, PCCF (Wildlife) Susanta Nanda today appealed to the people not to panic as the leopard is on its way to return to the forests.

People spotted the leopard roaming near Baitarani river at Panchupalli village under Anandpur block of Keonjhar district. Soon after getting the information about the leopard, Odisha Wildlife Officials rushed to spot and have been trying to send the animal to forests.

Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (wildlife) Susanta Nanda said the leopard came from Hadgarh Wildlife Sanctuary and there is no need to panic as the animal will again return to the sanctuary in the nights.

“Our officials are there and keeping a vigil on the movement of the leopard. This is a normal phenomena and the leopard will definitely return to the sanctuary. I appeal to the people not to panic or gather near the animal to watch it.”

Now State Wildlife Organization is connecting to people in a much better way, and also pro-active, which was earlier absent, said a former Wildlife Warden.
