Bhubaneswar: Schools across the State will reopen for the students of classes 6 and 7 after Diwali, School & Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash said on Wednesday.
“We are considering the possibility of commencement of classroom teaching for the students of classes 6 and 7 in the first phase,” the minister.
“In the later phase, the schools may reopen for the students of classes 1 to 5. We are hopeful that offline classes for students of all classes shall begin by New Year,” he said.
The SOPs that are being followed for classroom teaching of classes 8 to 12 students will be followed for other students as well, he added.
Currently, offline classes are being held only for the students of classes 8 to 12 with adherence to COVID-19 protocols.
While the online classes will continue, students can attend the offline classes in consultation with their parents/ guardians.
This apart, cooked mid-day meal will not be served to the students. Instead, dry ration will be provided to the students as being provided earlier, the SOP said.
Physical classes for Class VIII to XII have already resumed in the State.
The classroom teaching for Class XI and VII commenced on October 21 and October 25, 2021, respectively. Classes for students of X and XII started on July 26 last.
The Minister further informed that said the Government would appoint 16,000 teachers either in the last week of November or in the first week of December next to fill up the teacher’s posts lying vacant in various schools While the online classes will continue, students can attend the offline classes in consultation with their parents/ guardians.
