Pacts For Skill Development

Bhubaneswar: State Government in the Department of Higher Education on Tuesday signed MoUs with Infosys & Nasscom to provide skill development training to youths of the State.

With the objective of making the State of Odisha a digital talent hub, the State has signed the MOUs in the presence of Higher Education Minister Rohit Pujari, Principal Secretary, Higher Education, Bishnupada Sethi, Vice-Chairperson, Odisha State Higher Education Council and the Government officials of the department and members of Nasscom and Infosys.

In a visionary step towards creating a future-ready talent workforce, the Government of Odisha signed the MoU with nasscom to skill 8 lakh students through Future Skills Prime. Principal Secretary Shri Sethi is known for his visionary approach.

The MOU aims to skill the students and existing faculty in key technologies essential in today’s digital ecosystem and making India a digital talent nation.

A joint initiative by Nasscom & MeitY, Future Skills Prime is India’s technology skilling hub democratising learning and offers – students and professionals – a chance to skill, upskill and reskill to grow in their careers, officials said.

The collaboration aims to build technology capacity in all streams with digital fluency and industry-curated content. This offers a wholesome career building program to students to be industry-recognised Nasscom certified professionals.

The focus of this partnership is to integrate Emerging Technology programs through NSQF and NOS aligned curriculum to build a Future Talent pool for the state and this is in alignment with the National Education Policy 2020 implementation.

The students will have open access to various levels of aligned courses, they can apply for Government of India incentives, they would also be able to learn & engage with Industry experts and be part of exclusive career development opportunities like job fairs, internships, hiring hackathons, skill challenges etc., they said.

Aimed at creating learning and employment avenues for students, the collaboration with Infosys will democratize learning for ardent minds and prepare them to be future-ready.

Infosys Springboard empowers women and students from rural areas with a focused learning portal, specialized resources and expert mentors for holistic development. It is fully aligned with India’s National Education Policy 2020.

The learning program is particularly well suited to grow vocational skills, in addition to soft skills. Master classes, programming challenges, and playgrounds for the experimentation make the training immersive for all.

This will lead to upskilling and developing employability of approximately 8 lakhs students spread across 1100 Colleges and Universities of the Higher Education Department.
