Bhubaneswar: Registering a major success in the field of healthcare, Odisha has reported the highest point decline in the country in Infant Mortality Rate (IMR), 39 points decline from 2005 to 2020.
Such a drop in IMR is highest in the country, said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. At present, the infant mortality rate in the state has dropped to 36 per 1,000, he announced.
Expressing satisfaction over this great success, Chief Minister Patnaik congratulated all functionaries of the state government contributing in achieving this milestone.
Using his twitter handle Mr.Patnaik said “With effective implementation of quality healthcare services & focus on safe institutional delivery of women, #Odisha has registered the highest point decline of 39 in Infant Mortality Rate in the country from 2005 to 2020. Odisha’s IMR stands at 36/1000 live births.”
At a review meeting, the Chief Minister said “This is the lowest rate in the country at this time of year.”
Notably, Odisha has consistently been successful in various fields of development and set an example for other states, it has now achieved another milestone in healthcare.
The Chief Minister exhorted everyone to join the development journey of Odisha and bring more laurels for the State.
