Bhubaneswar: In a decisive step that reflects an unwavering commitment to the welfare of those on the front lines, the Operations Wing of Odisha Police signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding with the State Bank of India on September 11, 2026.
The ceremony, chaired by Shri Sanjeeb Panda, Director General Anti-Naxal Operations, Odisha held at the Operations Headquarters in Bhubaneswar, secured a comprehensive Corporate Salary Package for nearly 4,000 veteran personnel serving in the Odisha Special Striking Force.
The agreement was formally executed by Dr. Deepak Kumar, Inspector General of Operations, on behalf of Odisha Police, and Sri Ashish Kumar Mishra, Deputy General Manager, on behalf of State Bank of India,

The four OSSF battalions, composed entirely of ex-servicemen drawn from the Indian Armed Forces and Central Armed Police Forces, remain deployed across remote and challenging terrains across the state, primarily spearheading critical Anti-Naxal operations. Under this new arrangement, these brave veterans will now receive an exceptional layer of financial and social security.
The package features fifty lakh rupees in personal accident coverage, air ambulance reimbursement up to ten lakh rupees, plastic surgery coverage up to ten lakh rupees, and a dedicated higher education allowance for their children up to ten lakh rupees. Additionally, it offers family members access to Rishtey Account benefits, streamlined personal loan access, and highly affordable optional health coverage.
Addressing the gathering, DG Sri Sanjeeb Panda expressed deep gratitude to State Bank of India for recognizing the sacrifices of the force. He highlighted that these crucial safety nets, provided over and above existing government benefits, serve as a profound morale booster for personnel carrying out demanding duties in the state’s most difficult regions.
