Bhubaneswar: In a notable step toward accelerating clean energy adoption, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo flagged off the Avaada Bharat Uday Yatra at the Mayfair Convention today. The initiative underlines the state’s focus on shifting toward sustainable power and expanding its green energy footprint.
The event was attended by Shri Vishal Kumar Dev, Additional Chief Secretary, Energy and E&IT, who has been leading efforts to fast-track Odisha’s renewable energy transition.
The Uday Yatra is a nationwide grassroots awareness movement launched by the Avaada Group, a prominent integrated energy transition company in India. Utilizing custom-designed mobile vans, the campaign travels across multiple states and cities to directly engage with local communities.
The primary goal is to educate the public on the long-term benefits of renewable energy solutions like rooftop solar systems and to foster consumer participation in reducing carbon emissions.

During its stop in the capital city, the campaign featured interactive public outreach sessions, educational street plays, and opportunities for residents to sign a digital green pledge.
According to the company, these community-focused activities help demystify the transition to clean energy and clear up common misconceptions surrounding renewable power deployment.
The launch aligns closely with the state government’s broader economic and environmental strategy. Odisha is actively positioning itself as a hub for future clean energy investments, with Avaada currently developing a major green ammonia plant in the region alongside related large-scale renewable generation facilities..
