Bhubaneswar: In a major push to accelerate agricultural growth, land productivity, and soil moisture conservation, the Joint State-Level Sanctioning Committee has approved the Annual Action Plan for 2026–27 with a total outlay of ₹1,052 crore covering key agricultural programs.
Presiding over the meeting, Chief Secretary Smt. Anu Garg emphasized the need for targeted implementation to ensure benefits reach farming communities effectively.
Principal Secretary Finance Shri Sanjeeb Kumar Mishra assured full financial backing for all welfare-driven farming projects, while Secretary Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Shri Sachin Ramachandra Jadhav delivered a comprehensive progress report detailing field-level gains made through these state and central schemes.
The high-level sanctioning meeting brought together top leadership to evaluate flagship interventions under the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (PM-RKVY), the Watershed Development Component of Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (WDC-PMKSY 2.0), and the REWARD initiative.
The ₹1,052 crore financial framework for 2026–27 encompasses state-linked initiatives, detailed project report-based interventions, and KAPAS KANTI, a newly introduced mission aimed at expanding cotton cultivation and enhancing grower returns.
To complement crop-focused initiatives, the committee sanctioned dedicated allocations for sustainable land and water management. An Annual Action Plan of ₹139.45 crore was approved for WDC-PMKSY 2.0 to strengthen watershed infrastructure, while ₹147.22 crore was allocated under the REWARD project to accelerate science-based watershed planning and soil intelligence.
Highlighting the importance of scaling successful models, Chief Secretary Smt.Anu Garg released an official Standard Operating Procedure booklet titled “Use of the Research Products and Replication of RKVY Projects towards Further Extension.”
The new framework establishes standardized guidelines for replicating successful research outputs and expanding high-yielding project frameworks to farm fields statewide.
