Puri: From 21 February, the double dose vaccination certificate or Covid negative certificate is no longer required to have darshan of Trinity at the Shree Jagannath Temple here.
Keeping in mind the improved in Covid-19 situation in the State and double dose vaccination of a majority of population, the above decision was taken at the Chatisa Nijog meeting, informed Chief Administrator of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), Dr Krishan Kumar here on Monday.
However, Dr Kumar advised all devotees, who want to visit the temple, should have been vaccinated with two doses of Covid-19 vaccine.
The other imposed Covid-19 restrictions like use of sanitizer and masks, social distance will be mandatory for the devotees, he said.
The temple will continue to remain closed on Sunday for devotees for sanitization of the premises.
Informing about the upcoming visit of President Ram Nath Kovind to the Shrine, the SJTA Chief Administrator said that the temple will remain closed for the public during the President’s visit to the temple on February 19 from 4 PM to 6 PM.
Other details like who will remain present during his visit have been decided at the meeting. Around 40 platoons of police force will be deployed for the security of the President in the holy town.
Apart from Shree Jagannath darshan, Mr.Kovind will inaugurate the celebration of 150th birth anniversary of Srimad Bhakti Sidhant Saraswati Goswami Prabhupada, the founder of Gaudiya Mission on February 20. Later he will also visit Sri Chaitanya Gaudiya Mutt before returning to Delhi.
