Titilagarh: BJD Supermo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today filed nomination papers for the Kantabanji Assembly constituency in Balangir district for the sixth time in a row.   

The Chief Minister reached Tusra airport, where he was greeted by thousand of supporters. Later he came down to Titilagarh for  filing nomination papers.  

Naveen filed his nomination before the Returning Officer at the Sub-Collector’s office at Titilagarh in presence of BJD Veteran A U Singh Deo, 5T Chairman V K Pandian, Senior BJD Leader Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo.

Many senior leaders including Minister Tukni Sahu, MLA and MP candidates of Balangir  district have remained present at the Sub-Collector’s office here.

Shri Patnaik was received by BJD Veteran A U Singh Deo and BJD Balangir MLA Candidate Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo.

Chief Minister was happy to see his close friend and an ardent supporter, former Minister and MP Shri Singh Deo.

After filing Nomination Papers, Shri Patnaik asked about his well being and both the friends talked for quite some time about elections and heat wave hitting the state, said sources.

Chief Minister Shri Patnaik presented best wishes for Kalikesh, who is contesting from Balangir Assembly seat and asked about ongoing election process in Balangir district. Chief Minister wished him success in forthcoming elections, said sources.

Like the last election held in 2019, the BJD Chief is contesting from two Assembly seats this time.

Shri Patnaik filed his nomination for Hinjli Assembly seat on 30 April at Chhatrapur Sub Collector Office in Ganjam.

Apart from Hinjili, he is also contesting from Kantabanji MLA seat in Western Odisha, for which he filed papers on 2 May in presence of his friends and fellow party Members.
