New Delhi: The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy hosted a monthly review meeting with key wind turbine manufacturers and representatives from the Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association at Atal Akshay Urja Bhawan in New Delhi.
The high-level session was chaired by Shri Santosh Sarangi, Secretary of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. The meeting served as a dedicated forum to address core operational and strategic challenges facing India’s wind energy sector, with an emphasis on aligning domestic manufacturing capabilities with national clean energy objectives.
During the discussions, officials and industry leaders reviewed several critical pillars of the sector. Primary focus areas included expanding domestic manufacturing capacity, bolstering research and development initiatives, and maintaining stringent quality standards across the supply chain. Delegates also discussed operational policy frameworks, testing procedures for wind turbine prototypes, and measures designed to streamline duty structures on raw materials essential for component manufacturing.
The meeting highlighted ongoing efforts to spearhead the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, which aims to make India a self-reliant global powerhouse in renewable energy production and clean technology export.
Ministry officials assured industry stakeholders of continuous dialogue and supportive policy interventions to resolve sector-specific bottlenecks. Both the government and the Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association reaffirmed their shared commitment to accelerating wind power deployment, strengthening domestic supply chains, and driving sustainable growth across the nation’s renewable energy landscape.
