Bhubaneswar: Odisha Cabinet has officially approved the continuation of the State Sector Scheme, “Subsidy under State Agriculture Policy”, also known as the Mukhyamantri Krushi Udyog Yojana (MKUY), for an additional five years from 2026-27 to 2030-31.
Chief Secretary Shrimati Anu Garg breiefed Media after the meeting of State Cabinet and said that the extension comes with a total budget outlay of Rs.2496.40 crore to encourage agri-entrepreneurship and establish commercial agri-enterprises across the state.
Designed to promote agricultural diversification, the adoption of modern technologies, and high-value farming practices, the scheme will offer financial assistance and Capital Investment Subsidies to eligible entrepreneurs.
The funding covers vital sectors including agriculture, horticulture, fisheries, animal resources, and food processing. By ensuring the optimum utilization of available land and resources, the initiative aims to enhance crop production, increase farmers’ income, and create sustainable employment opportunities to strengthen the rural economy.
The program will be implemented across all 30 districts of Odisha. Under this five-year phase, the state proposes the establishment of around 8,500 commercial agri-enterprise projects, backed by the estimated Rs.2496.40 crore investment
