Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas and Steel, today launched a unique missed call facility for booking LPG refills and registration of new connections.
The facility has been brought as a New Year bonanza for Indane LPG customers.
Inaugurating the missed call facility and terming it as a New Year Gift to the country, Mr.Pradhan said, “Under the able guidance of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas strives to ensure energy availability, accessibility, and affordability.”
While the Ministry has ensured LPG penetration in the country is now almost 99% up from 55.9% in 2014, we are now looking at making this kitchen-friendly fuel more accessible to all. In the line with the vision for a Digital India, the missed call facility will play a crucial role in making LPG more easily accessible to the consumers.
The Petroleum Ministry has always strived to improve customer convenience and this facility by IndianOil will play a crucial role in making LPG more easily accessible.”
IndianOil’s Missed Call facility for its Indane LPG customers for booking refills will be available across the country by giving a missed call to 8454955555.
Prospective customers can also register for a new connection by giving a missed call to the same number. Currently the option of registering new connections is available only in Bhubaneshwar and will soon be rolled out to the rest of the country.

A missed call will now be the simplest & most convenient way for a customer to book their LPG refills.
The new connection registration facility through missed call will be a boon to the floating population who is not aware of the serving distributors in their locality.
The need for contactless transactions has been amplified in view of the restrictions imposed due to COVID-19. Leveraging technology, IndianOil has adopted the following digital initiatives to help customers to book and pay for their Indane LPG refills through digital platforms common IVRS and SMS number across the country, refill booking on WhatsApp, refill booking on UMANG app, refill booking & payments on PayTM & Amazon, refill booking & payments thru BBPS, IndianOil Portal and Mobile App.
Minister also launched IndianOil’s premium 100 octane petrol, XP100, at Bhubaneswar, and flagged off the first batch of XP100 from IndianOil’s 119-oldheritage Digboi Refinery.
Established in 1901, the Digboi Refinery was Asia’s first oil refinery and currently among the world’s oldest operating refinery.

The availability of XP100 in Bhubaneswar is part of our promise to ensure diverse energy solutions in all parts of the country. We are especially proud that our oldest refinery at Digboi has adapted to the changing demands and successfully rolled out this premium product, which is being flagged off by our Hon’ble Minister,” added Shrikant Madhav Vaidya, Chairman, IndianOil.
Currently, the normal petrol marketed in India has 91 Octane. IndianOil’s premium grade petrol with 100 Octane is designed to rev up the engine, give faster acceleration, significantly boost engine performance, give better drivability, enhanced fuel economy and engine life. It exceeds IS-2796 specifications and is also an environment-friendly fuel with much reduced tailpipe emissions.
XP100 premium grade petrol is currently available in Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Agra, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Mumbai, Pune, and Ahmedabad. It is being made available in Bhubaneswar, along with Guwahati, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Kolkata. These cities have been selected basis their aspirational demographics and availability of high-end vehicles in these cities.
