Bhubaneswar: Odisha Government observed Civil Services Day 2026 on April 21 at the State Convention Centre, Lokseva Bhawan, Bhubaneswar. Organized by the Gopabandhu Academy of Administration, the event served as a platform for civil servants to reaffirm their commitment to public service, good governance, and citizen-centric administration.
The program was attended by approximately 300 officers from various state departments, while District Collectors and their teams from all districts participated virtually.
Smt. Anu Garg, Chief Secretary of Odisha, delivered the special address, emphasizing the state’s journey toward the goals of Viksit Odisha and Viksit Bharat. She outlined a governance framework based on six fundamental principles: scale, speed, synergy, system-building, simplification, and sustainability.
Dr. Jugal Kishore Mohapatra, former Chief Secretary of Odisha, provided the keynote address focusing on the model of collaborative governance. He encouraged participating officers to maintain high standards of service and shared insights from his administrative career.
Additionally, Smt. Chithra Arumugam, Director General of the Gopabandhu Academy of Administration, noted the evolving responsibilities of civil servants within the current governance landscape during her welcome address.
The event included an open house session where officers exchanged field experiences and discussed strategies to improve service delivery. The proceedings were also live-streamed to ensure broader accessibility across the administration.
