Madhu Babu Legacy Honoured

Bhubaneswar:A prestigious ceremony titled Kulagourav Samman 2026 to celebrate the birth anniversary of Legendary Madhusudan Das, organized by Biswa Odia Pariwar. The event served as a cultural bridge, honoring individuals who have significantly contributed to the growth and heritage of Odisha.

Shri Sajjan Sharma, President of Biswa Odia Pariwar, presided over the gathering and emphasized the necessity of recognizing those who fuel the state’s progress.

Shrimati Surama Padhy, Speaker, Odisha Legislative Assembly, graced the occasion as a Chief Guest and reflected on the monumental role of Madhusudan Das as the architect of the first linguistic state in India. She highlighted his visionary efforts in industrialization, women’s empowerment, and the establishment of vital institutions that continue to define Odia society. Adding to the cultural discourse, Member of Parliament Shri Baijayant Panda remarked on the enduring relevance of Madhu Babu’s ideals in strengthening Odia identity, self-respect, and modern aspirations.

The industrial and economic spirit of the state was represented by Industries Minister Shri Sampad Chandra Swain, who spoke about the strategic importance of entrepreneurship in achieving the dream of a developed Odisha. He noted that industry leaders do more than run businesses; they sustain the socio-economic ecosystem and provide livelihoods. Ajay Agrawal, a prominent industrialist, encouraged the younger generation to adopt a constructive and development-oriented mindset, mirroring the multifaceted contributions of Madhu Babu.

The cultural atmosphere of the evening was enriched by several performances and traditional tributes. Students from the Vivekananda Shikshyakendra in IRC Village performed the state anthem, Bande Utkala Janani, while noted poet Manoranjan Sarangi recited a poem dedicated to Madhu Babu. Tapan Kumar Swain welcomed the guests, and Jagannath Pradhan concluded the formal proceedings with a vote of thanks, reiterating the impact of Madhu Babu on the state’s industrial foundation.

A significant highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Kulagourav Samman 2026 to a diverse group of entrepreneurs and leaders from across Odisha. Recipients included Anil Narolia, Abani Kanungo, Bhagaban Gupta, Babina Patra, Meera Bajpayee, Debajani Sahu, Piyush Mohanty, Laxmidhar Sahu, Dr. Kishanlal Agrawal, Priti Pallavi Patnaik, Polli Patnaik, Dr. Poonam Baliarsingh, Pabitra Kumar Swain, Ranjit Kumar Sahu, Rabi Narayan Satapathy, Rashmita Khatua, CA Rakesh Kumar Gupta, Siddhartha Shankar Raut, Sudhakar Panda, Sarat Chandra Pradhan, Swetali Patnaik, Sukanta Kumar Mallick, Sandeep Guha Ray, Suresh Chandra Patra, Shubham Panda, Tapan Mohanty, Subhadeep Ray Choudhury, Mahesh Agrawal, Choudhury Jyotsa Dash, Mamata Biswal, Jubina Ali, Ashok Samal, Jayesh Joshi, Laxmi Narayan Deepak Kumar Das, Satyabrata Satapathy, Pabitra Routray, Satwik Swain, Chumki Dutta, Smrutishree Singh, and Swagi Jagdev.

The successful execution of the ceremony was managed by a dedicated team from Biswa Odia Pariwar, including Sujit Kumar Dash, Sadhu Charan Behera, Suresh Kumar Sahu, Rakesh Padhi, Anjan Debata, Saumendra Ray, Prabhat Nayak, Sangita Das, Arati Mishra, Rajmitra Praharaj, Kanakalata Bhanja, Swagatika Dhal, Pradeep Kumar Sahu, Bhabani Shankar Mishra, Sonam, and Garima. The guests collectively praised the initiative for linking historical legacy with contemporary achievement on such a culturally significant day.
