Bhubaneswar: The State Transport Department has prepared bus fare for passengers travelling on buses operating under Location Accessible Multi-modal Initiative (LAccMI) Scheme.
For travelling in Non-AC bus services to Blocks, a passenger will have to pay Rs 5 for 0-10 km, Rs 10 for 11-20 km, Rs 15 for 21-40 km, Rs 25 for 41-60 km and Rs 30 for 61-80 km.
Similarly, for travelling in an AC bus connected to the district headquarters, a passenger will have to pay Rs 10 for 0-10 km, Rs 20 for 11-20 km, Rs 40 for 21-40 km, Rs 60 for 41-60 km and Rs 80 for 61-80 km.
However, the State Government has given a special rebate to the women, students and PwDs. Passengers of these three categories will have to pay only Rs 5 for travelling in the block connected buses and Rs 10 on traveling district connected buses.
The flat bus fare rates are applicable irrespective of the distance travelled, Transport and Commerce Principal Secretary Usha Padhee said in an order.
The concession in Bus fare for Student Passengers shall be applicable in both Block Connectivity & District Connectivity Bus services under LAccMI Scheme, on production of valid School/ College Identity Card/ authenticated proof from the competent authority, she said.
The concession in bus fare for Physically Disabled Passengers shall be applicable in both Block connectivity & District connectivity bus services under LAccMI Scheme, on production of Identity Card/ authenticated proof from the competent authority, i.e., concerned Block Development Officer (BDO), Commissioner/Executive Officer of the Municipal Corporation/Municipalities/ NACs or DSWOs.
Shrimati Padhee directed all LAccMI bus to display, at a conspicuous place inside the bus, its category i.e., Block Connectivity & District Connectivity Bus services, the Km slab-based Bus fare chargeable from the passengers along with the concessions available as stated above for information of the passengers.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik yesterday launched the Location Accessible Multi Modal initiative (LAccMI) Yojana in Malkangiri district to facilitate assured and affordable transport to the people.
Under the scheme, over 1,000 buses will ply throughout the State. Today, 36 buses started operation in Malkangiri and the facility was available in 111 panchayats of the district.
In the first phase, he said, buses will ply under the LAccMI scheme in Nabarangpur, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati and Kandhamal along with Malkangiri.
