II Dose Timeline For Govt Employees

Bhubaneswar: The State Government on Friday asked its employees working in Capital City Bhubaneswar to get double dose of vaccines by June end. Otherwise, they will not be allowed to join work at the offices. However, there is exception for employees who have medical and other genuine problems.    

Additional Chief Secretary, General Administration and Public Grievance, Sanjeev Chopra has issued this instruction to all Departments and Heads of Departments located at Bhubaneswar.  

He said double-dose vaccination mandatory for the department, subordinate office and PSU employees at Bhubaneswar to attend office with effect from July 1, 2021.

A special drive for vaccination of Government employees of all the departments/sub-ordinate offices/PSUs is being organized in Bhubaneswar from June 10 and will continue till June 20, Chopra said.

In the process, first dose of vaccine administered to about 6,000 employees while second phase of the vaccination drive is in progress with effect from June 17 for complete vaccination of the employees.

Nodal Officers of all the Departments have been requested to ensure full vaccination of all employees of offices located at Bhubaneswar to enable full fledged functioning of offices with effect from July 1, 2021.

“The objective of the exercise is to ensure that a working environment is provided to the employees in discharge of official responsibilities. In pursuance of the above, it has been decided all employees of Departments/Sub-ordinate Offices/PSUs at Bhubaneswar must get double doses of the vaccine and attend office regularly from July 1, 2021,” the ACS said.

In case any employee has been unable to get vaccinated for medical or some other compelling reason, he/he must apply for an exemption to the Head of the Department /Organisation. On receipt of such application(s), the matter can be considered on a case-to-case basis, he told the Department heads.

Employees who are neither vaccinated nor exempted would not be permitted to attend office from July 1 and their absence will be treated as willful, he warned.

Chopra requested the senior officers to inform all employees of their offices in Bhubaneswar about the above instructions.
