Bhubaneswar: Governor Ganeshi Lal on Monday felicitates the parents of the candidates, who cleared the civic service examinations for All India Services (AIS) conducted by the UPSC.
Nine candidates from Odisha have cleared the top most examination. Five have cleared the IAS while two cracked IPS and two others IFS. All the candidates along with their parents and other family members have joined the special program organized by Raj Bhawan.
The IAS cleared candidates are—Simi Karan, Bibhuti Bhusan Nayak, Sanjita Mohapatra, Kumar Biswaranjan and Bedabhusan. Samir Kumar Jena and Rahul Goyal have cleared the IPS and Sumit Kumar Kar and Anurag Mishra have cracked the IFS.
Congratulating the candidates and their parents, the Governor said God has given greater responsibility to the parents and engaged them for a Noble cause. There is no comparison to the sacrifice made by the parents and there is an alternative to them, he said.
As the parents are playing the role of Guru in everyone’s life, they are always at top of all, he further said.
The blessings of parents make their children successful and the happiness and prosperity of children is all of above for the parents, the Governor further said at the event.
He advised the young designated officers to work to ensure better governance for the people of India.
Congratulating the candidates, Secretary to Governor, Dr Pramod Meherda has advised all of them to always go on the path of truth and for the interest of the public.
All candidates thanked the Governor for the wonderful program. Guardians of the successful candidates, who were present on the occasion, expressed their gratitude to the Governor for facilitating the candidates. They said that such an initiative by the Raj Bhawan will definitely inspire many others in the State.
