Grievance Redressal Activated

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi stated that empathy, compassion, and cordiality are the foundational principles of the governance system, making the listening and resolution of public grievances the top priority of the government. This statement was made during the 20th state-level grievance hearing program held at the Chief Minister’s Grievance Cell in Unit-2, Bhubaneswar.

During the morning session, the Chief Minister personally interacted with differently-abled individuals and those suffering from critical illnesses who were waiting outside, receiving their petitions and instructing officials present to take immediate action. Following this, grievances from registered applicants inside the cell were heard. Ten senior cabinet ministers and secretaries from various departments assisted in addressing the public concerns.

To provide immediate medical relief, the Chief Minister sanctioned financial assistance totaling 14.50 lakh rupees for 16 individuals suffering from various critical illnesses through the single-window system. Over 600 grievance petitions were received via both online and offline modes during the day’s proceedings.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo along with Ministers Shri Suresh Pujari, Dr. Mukesh Mahaling, Shri Bibhuti Bhusan Jena, Dr. Krushna Chandra Mahapatra, Shri Krushna Chandra Patra, Shri Pradeep Bal Samanta, Shri Gokulananda Mallik, Shri Suryabanshi Suraj, and Ganeshram Singh Khuntia.

Senior officials including Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Saswat Mishra, Additional Chief Secretary of the Revenue Department Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Secretary Agriculture and Farmer’s Empowerment, Shri Sachin Ramachandra Jadhav, Principal Secretary General Administration and Public Grievances Shri Suresh Kumar Vashishth also supported the program.

Regarding previous statistics, out of 15,327 grievances received across the 19 preceding state-level hearing rounds, 14,519 complaints, translating to 95 percent, have been successfully resolved. At the district level, collectors and superintendents of police continue regular hearings, with 2,69,394 grievances processed and an 87 percent resolution rate recorded up to the end of July. Regular grievance redressal mechanisms are also operational at tehsil and block levels, reducing unnecessary hardship for citizens and significantly boosting public trust in the administration.
