Bhubaneswar: Roopa Roshan Sahoo, Secretary, ST & SC Development, Minorities and Backward Classes Welfare has said that the Department ST & SC Development M&BCW is extending financial assistance to the ST & SC students pursuing higher study.
This is funded from the State Budget under Financial Assistance scheme of Mukhyamantri Medhabi Chhatra Protshan Yojana (MMCPY).
Shrimati Sahoo, Secretary ST & SC Development M&BCW has written to the District Collectors in this regard.
She has informed that Under MMCPY for those eligible ST & SC students studying in Government institutions offering MBBS and Engineering (B-Tech, M-Tech) Course, the entire Course Fee of the course tenure will be covered.
The Couse fee include admission charge /seat acceptance charge , initial deposit ,Annual Course Fee(Tuition Fee and all compulsory payable charges to the institution ),Hostel Admission charges and annual Hostel/Mess charges and any other incidental expenses for study like purchase of books/study materials coaching /tutorial expenses.
All such expenses duly signed by the Dean/Head of the institution and student may be forwarded to the District Collector for reimbursement under the scheme.
The requirement may be forwarded to this Department. For all eligible ST & SC students from the year 2023-24 onwards, the entire component as described above shall be borne by the Government in Department, the Secretary Shrimati Sahoo said
